Hello, I'm Rachael,

a creative soul living in West Limerick, Ireland

I’m an illustrator and designer with over 22 years of experience, and a ‘secret name’ behind many internationally recognised greeting card collections. I predominantly freelanced for UK publishers, and my work is available in many stores across Ireland, the UK and right across the globe.

Working both traditionally and digitally, often combining the two my work can include anything from painting, stitching, pen and ink, mark-making, watercolours, printing and pattern all brought together like a jigsaw puzzle to create colourful, uplifting illustrations. I love pareidolia and believe many hours spent cloud spotting with my nan as a child, inspired my creativity. I delight in transforming and incorporating prints made from everyday objects such as lollipop sticks, pegs, toy cars, bubble wands; into the icons and patterns in my illustration work.

Recently my portfolio has focused on illustration and surface pattern pieces for fabric design, editorial illustration, children’s apparel, home-wares, books and private commissions. I would be delighted to hear from art directors or buyers wishing to license my work.

Sharing my love of creativity with others, led me to establish a thriving children’s art club, a drink and draw evening (thanks COVID for temporarily putting this on hold) and creating a series of Adult and Children’s Workshops which I facilitate at various events.

Following a dream to own a cottage in a wood, we found one with a babbling stream and a bit of land in rural Ireland. My husband and I packed our belongings, left our Yorkshire homeland, set sail to make Ireland our home. A home which we now share with our hairy black dog and two children.

Other things I love are camping, hiking, veg growing, in fact, anything outdoorsy, audiobooks, sewing, baking, coffee, cake and a chinwag and playing card and board games, especially Rapidough!
